Dreamweaver Tutorial
Lesson 1: The Basics of Building a Site

By Troy Dreier

Creating a New Site or Connecting to An Existing Site

If you're just starting out, create the folders you'll need for your site, adding any graphics you already have to the appropriate folders. When done, open Dreamweaver and select Site/New Site. Provide the local storage information for your site. Once you've created the homepage, open this window again and select the homepage under "Site Map Layout." This helps Dreamweaver create a visual map of your site.

If you're working with an existing site, go through the different sections of the New Site window and provide the site name, homepage, and remote access information.
