Lesson 6: Other Dreamweaver 3 Timesavers

By Troy Dreier

Using Design Notes

Design Notes let you attach a comment to a page or even an element within a page. Use them to communicate thoughts with team members or to save crucial information for use later in the site creation process.

To activate Design Notes, go to Site/Define Sites. Select your site from the dialog box and press Edit. From the list on the left-hand side, highlight Design Notes. Make sure Maintain Design Notes is selected.

Add a note to a page by selecting File/Design Notes while the page is open. Add a note to an object by right-clicking (PC) or control-clicking (Mac) on the object, then choosing Design Notes from the menu that appears.
