Top Ten Intranet Design Mistakes

Mistake #9 Not testing your site with different browsers and different
systems.
Hopefully, you've standardized on one browser -- and one version of that browser
and you only support one platform. One of the most surprising things I've learned
is that many corporations still support different browsers and different versions
and different platforms. Many corporations have specified Netscape 4.X and IE
5.X as the only versions supported. Well, even these browsers don't support every
feature available in the designer's and programmer's portfolio. Check out Web
Review's Browser Compatibility Chart and you'll see what features are and
are not supported. If your company hasn't standardized on one browser and one
release level, there may be problems using certain design techniques on your site.
