Protocom Development Systems LTD, a provider of directory-enabled single sign-on technologies, announced that its SecureLogin authentication, authorization and administration software now supports biometric fingerprint readers from Precise Biometrics, a european biometric company.
"Precise Biometrics is an industry leader, in particular with their Precise Match-on Card technology," said Jason Hart, CEO of Protocom. "The Match-on Card technology not only ensures maximum security, but it has proven to be a biometric offering that end-users are willing to embrace. The fingerprint template, instead of being stored on a back-end system somewhere, is stored on the smartcard itself, eliminating what we observe to be end-user concerns with privacy."
Protocom said that its software, SecureLogin, when combined with Precise Biometrics' line of smart card and match-on card biometric fingerprint readers, postitions the company to provide organizations with security for their corporate, intranet and extranet systems that the security officer and end-users will all embrace. In addition, Protocom's software leverages an organization's existing NDS, eDirectory, LDAP, iPlanet, NT Domain and AD infrastructure.
