6. Outline mode
Coders will also appreciate the Outline view, which lets you make big changes to a document in a small amount of time.
How to do it:
Open a document and select Outline mode. Turn on the Split Source view.
7. Hiding Palettes
Too many windows! It's a problem plaguing all the major Web authoring tools these days, as more and more options become translated into more tiny windows floating around your screen. GoLive 6 can't end that palette clutter, but it can give you an efficient way to hide (or reveal) all your palettes in a hurry.
How to do it:
When you need some floating palette relief, press Command-J (Macintosh) or Control-J (Windows) to hide your palettes, then press it again to make them all visible.
8. Use the JavaScript Shell Window
If you're just learning JavaScript or even if you've been writing it for a while, you can use GoLive's JavaScript Shell Window to test your skills and be more productive.
How to do it:
Open the shell window and you'll find that you can type directly in it and evaluate your JavaScript. For example, if you need to calculate a value, type 1/3*540, the press Enter and you'll get 180. Use this feature to set the size of an image, edit your page, or automate a repetitive task.
9. Download actions, extensions, tutorials, and templates
With GoLive, you're not limited to what's on the disks. It doesn't come with many templates, for example, especially compared to a template-loaded product like FrontPage, but you can get more by searching around AdobeXchange.com.
How to do it:
Simply visit AdobeXchange.com and download what you need. Some of the most popular downloads include the Shopping Cart, MenuMaker, and Real System extensions.
That's it for Adobe's favorite tips. Do you have a GoLive 6.0 tips that wasn't covered here, but is a real timesaver? Tell us about it and if we get enough, we'll pass them along to our readers.
