Ektron has released version 6.1 of its CMS400.NET Web content management platform.

The Amherst, N.H.-based company said the release offers new features for portals, personalization, compliance and accessibility, as well as a software development kit for the Web developers implementing the application.

CMS400.NET capabilities are aimed at making it easier to create, deploy and manage interactive web, intranet, and extranet sites with a single application. New and enhanced capabilities in version 6.1 include: personalization and portal support; broken link checker; eWebEditPro+XML Version 5.0 with 508 and W3C Compliance Checker; integrated document management; and a software development kit.

"(Customers) want their Web developers to be able to easily set up a site with out-of-the-box functionality," said Bill Rogers, founder and chief executive officer of Ektron, "and if needed, extend it with their own custom business logic. They want their content creators to be comfortable in the authoring environment with intuitive features."

Ektron CMS400.NET version 6.1 is available immediately and pricing starts at $8,939 for a 10-user, one-URL license with one year of maintenance. For more information, to download a trial or to request a live demonstration, visit www.ektron.com/pr/cms400v6.

Magazine Lauds Stellent

Stellent Inc., a global provider of content management solutions, was named one of "The Hottest Companies of 2006" by Start-IT, a monthly magazine for manufacturing executives that covers the business benefits of technology.

The magazine recognized the company for its Stellent Universal Records Management, a unique software platform that empowers organizations, including manufacturers, to apply records and retention policies and legal holds to relevant content across the enterprise. Stellent says the platform defines, manages, and executes these records and retention management policies for all enterprise content from a single server.
