Intranet Dashboard Takes Two Product of the Year Awards

For the first time, Intranet Journal joined other Jupitermedia Web sites and held a Product of the Year 2006 contest.

We asked readers to nominate then vote on the tools and programs that they think are the best in their field. We limited our Product of the Year categories to six.

Some of the six races were close, particularly the Document Management/Collaboration Suite category, as well as the Wiki and Blog categories. (See below for the winners). Other races were not as close, such as Enterprise Search, where Google's dominance is just too big for some smaller-but-worthy competitors to break through. (I'm sure the smaller search companies feel like Martin Scorsese at the Academy Awards: It's an honor just to be nominated.)

We've known that Intranet Dashboard is a feature-rich, easy-to-use Intranet suite. So we weren't surprised it won. But Intranet Dashboard actually won two of the six categories, which was surprising. What a testament to its popularity and diverse, easy-to-use tools.
