I found the answer on another message board as follows: AND IT WORKS!

1. Open MY COMPUTER
2. Click on View
3. The Folder Options
4. Choose Files Types. (Inside the Registered File Type box choose the Mozilla JPEG file (GIF) file and press and Remove button. I had two in mine so I deleted them both).
5. This deletes the association but not the acutal images on your computer.
6. Next, find a JPEG or GIF photo image that was previously a Mozilla file and double-click it.
7. You will be asked to specify an asociation for the image - Choose iexplorer (IE) or whatever else you would like.
8. You should now be able to open the photo image file by directly double clicking on the icon and YOU CAN NOW MAIL IT EASILY!

It worked for me and man was this a real headache!
