Assuming that the Access database is fully functional (with the database schema and data),If you want to access this MS Access database using ADO then you need not necessarily have to install Access. It is enough if you have the Driver for the Mocrosoft Jet Engine Database on your machine . I am not sure whether this comes by default with Windows NT or Windows 2000.

Why dont you try creating a DSN for the Access database and in the process you could specify the Access driver to be used .
