Your problem is known as 'windowed elements'.
There are certain form elements that aren't built by the browser - they are called from the underlying Operating System.
These 'windowed elements' float in a separate plane above the rest of the page. The solution is to hide these elements (using visibility) whenever the mouse moves near them.
