I have been involved in an extensive and frustrating study of two products, Intraspect and LiveLink. We have two test groups using the products. From a user community perspective the out of the box functionality of Intraspect's product is very user friendly and has high-level of user acceptance. The other user community has complained that the out of the box functionality of LiveLink requires extensive training and has a very low user acceptance (most users give-up and find alternate methods to collaborate). Both products cost about the same to purchase for an enterprise, and provide similar functionality when all of the “extra” modules are added. The basic LiveLink product has better document management functionality, ie workflow etc. The basic Intraspect product has more collaboration functionality, ie email integration. I personally think the Intraspect product is better. Regardless of how great the product may seem to the technical community, if people don’t use it, then it is a waste of money.
